I took Spanish in college. This was me trying something new. I’m glad it worked out.

The chorus means “I’m very happy; there’s money to throw. How much does this cost?— I’m of a mind to spend. [The price] doesn’t matter to me, but let me think, but let me think, but let me think.”

Déjame Pensar is a hype song where I’m not saying a whole lot, but I’m saying enough for you to listen. I wanted to emulate the styles of the reggaetoneros I like listening to.

One of my favorite bits—you’ll hear it—goes:

Yo te recomiendo que te muevas salaz:
Y cuando necesita nunca me deja en paz
Si yo te llamé, está noche ven sin ocultar
Te voy a tocar sin parar así como guitarra—

Which means “I recommend you start dirty dancing: And when she needs me she never leaves me in peace. If I called you, come without hiding tonight. I’m going to touch you non-stop like a guitar.”

It was about here that I started to get in my bag with the writing.
